Kyle & Kat’s DoubleTree Stoke Wedding

On the 10th April 2026, I had the pleasure of photographing Kyle and Kat’s beautiful wedding at the DoubleTree by Hilton Stoke-on-Trent. As a Staffordshire wedding photographer, it’s always a privilege to capture weddings at such a stylish venue, and their day was filled with genuine emotion, laughter, and unforgettable moments from start to finish. The grounds around the DoubleTree by Hilton Stoke-on-Trent gave us some fantastic options for relaxed couple portraits during the afternoon.

From the relaxed morning preparations through to the evening celebrations and romantic night portraits outside the venue, every part of the day came together perfectly.

Bridal Preparations at DoubleTree by Hilton Stoke-on-Trent

The day began with bridal preparations at the DoubleTree by Hilton Stoke-on-Trent, where Kat and her bridal party spent the morning getting ready together. The atmosphere was calm, excited, and full of anticipation as hair and makeup were completed and the final details started coming together.

These quieter moments during the morning are always some of my favourite parts of the wedding day to photograph. From the dress hanging beautifully in the room to the emotional reactions from bridesmaids and family members seeing Kat ready for the ceremony, there were so many natural moments to capture.

Kat looked absolutely stunning, and the elegant surroundings of the venue provided the perfect backdrop for those bridal preparation photographs.

Groom Preparations

While bridal prep was underway, Kyle and the groomsmen were getting suited and ready for the ceremony. There was plenty of laughter and excitement throughout the morning as everyone prepared for the big day.

The groom prep is always an important part of the wedding story, helping capture the anticipation and atmosphere before the ceremony begins.

Emotional Wedding Ceremony

The weather turned out to be fabolous! The ceremony took place outdoor and it was filled with emotion from beginning to end. As Kat walked down the aisle, you could immediately see the emotion and excitement on Kyle’s face.

Their vows, the reactions from guests, and those natural in-between moments created such a genuine atmosphere throughout the ceremony. Capturing authentic emotions like these is always one of the most rewarding parts of wedding photography.

Group Photographs with Family & Friends

After the ceremony, we moved into the group photograph and confetti portion of the day. Despite having all the group photos outdoor, The DoubleTree by Hilton Stoke-on-Trent offers fantastic spaces both inside and outside for family portraits and wedding party photographs.

Kyle and Kat’s guests brought amazing energy throughout the session, making the group photographs relaxed, organised, and enjoyable for everyone involved.

Group photographs are always an important part of the day, creating timeless memories that couples and families can look back on for years to come.

Bride & Groom Portrait Session

One of the highlights of the day was spending time with Kyle and Kat during their couple portrait session. We explored different areas around the venue and made the most of the soft spring light to create natural, elegant, and romantic portraits.

The connection between them both made photographing them incredibly easy. Rather than overly posed images, I always try to create a relaxed environment where couples can simply enjoy a few quiet moments together while I capture genuine interactions.

These portraits often become some of the most meaningful images from the entire wedding day.

Wedding Speeches & Reception

The wedding breakfast and speeches brought a perfect mix of laughter, emotion, and heartfelt moments. From touching stories shared by family members to hilarious memories that had the entire room laughing, the atmosphere during the reception was incredible. Wedding speeches are always filled with genuine reactions and are such an important part of documenting the full story of the day.

We then moved the coverage to their cake cutting and their first dance which was an unforgettable moment!

Creative Night Portraits Outside the Venue

Before the evening came to an end, we stepped outside the venue for a short nighttime portrait session.

Using creative lighting techniques, off-camera flash and the elegant exterior of the DoubleTree by Hilton Stoke-on-Trent, we created some dramatic and romantic nighttime photographs that perfectly finished the day.

Night portraits are always a fantastic way to add something unique and cinematic to a wedding gallery, and Kyle and Kat absolutely smashed it.
