Anna & Mark's Relaxed Spring Wedding at Dunedin Country House, Hull
If you're planning a wedding at Dunedin Country House in Hull, I hope Anna and Mark's beautiful spring wedding gives you a little inspiration for your own day.
I had the pleasure of photographing their wedding on 2nd May 2026, and from the moment I arrived, I knew it was going to be one of those weddings that was simply a joy to be part of. The whole day had such a relaxed feel to it. There was no rushing around or unnecessary stress—just lots of excitement, plenty of laughter and everyone looking forward to celebrating two wonderful people.
As I always do, I began the morning by photographing all the little details before everything got busy. Anna's wedding dress looked stunning hanging up ready for the day ahead, alongside her shoes, jewellery, perfume and accessories. I also spent a little time capturing the beautiful bouquets and floral details that had been so carefully chosen.
These are often the photographs that quietly tell the beginning of the story. So much thought goes into every little detail, and I love making sure they're remembered long after the wedding day is over.
Once I'd finished with the details, I joined Anna and the bridal party as everyone carried on getting ready. The room was full of smiles, laughter and just the right amount of excitement. Hair was being finished, makeup was almost complete and there was that lovely feeling that the day everyone had been waiting for had finally arrived.
Bridal preparations are always one of my favourite parts of any wedding. They're full of moments that can't be planned—a proud smile from a parent, friends helping with the finishing touches, a burst of laughter over something someone has said, or that quiet moment before it's finally time to put on the dress. These little moments often become some of the most treasured memories.
Once I'd captured plenty of moments during the bridal preparations, I headed over to spend some time with Mark and his groomsmen.
As you'd probably expect, the atmosphere was a little different! There was plenty of banter, a few laughs as everyone helped each other with ties and buttonholes, and that quiet excitement that starts to build as the ceremony gets closer.
I always enjoy photographing both sides of the morning because it helps tell the complete story of the day. While the bridal suite is often full of anticipation and emotion, the groom prep has its own unique energy, and it's great to capture those moments too before everyone gathers for the ceremony.
With everyone ready to go, it wasn't long before guests began taking their seats, and all eyes turned towards the ceremony.
Then, before we knew it, it was time for the ceremony.
Watching a couple see each other for the first time never gets old, no matter how many weddings I photograph. It's one of those moments that only happens once, and it's exactly why I love documenting weddings in a natural, documentary style. Anna and Mark's ceremony was full of genuine smiles, happy tears and so much love from everyone who had come to celebrate with them. It was an absolute privilege to witness.
After the ceremony, we headed outside to make the most of the beautiful grounds at Dunedin Country House. The spring weather couldn't have been kinder, giving us the perfect opportunity for confetti photos! And to gather everyone together for the family photographs before taking Anna and Mark for a few relaxed portraits around the venue.
I always try to keep this part of the day as natural as possible. Nobody wants to spend hours standing in front of a camera while their guests are enjoying the celebrations. Instead, we kept things simple, had a little walk around the grounds, had a chat and captured photographs that felt like them—natural, relaxed and completely unforced.
One of the biggest highlights of the day came during the wedding breakfast.
Just when everyone thought they were settling in to enjoy their meal, a pretend waiter from Singers Secreto completely surprised the room with their singing waiter performance. If you've never experienced singing waiters at a wedding before, I can honestly say they're brilliant.
The reactions were priceless.
Within moments the room had gone from quietly enjoying dinner to everyone singing along, clapping and laughing together. Watching the surprise unfold through my camera was so much fun, and it created some of my favourite candid moments from the entire day.

As the afternoon turned into evening, I simply did what I love doing most—blending into the background and quietly documenting everything as it happened.
Friends catching up over a drink.
Grandparents sharing stories.
Children running around the dance floor.
Guests laughing until they cried.
The hugs, the conversations, the unexpected moments and everything in between.
These are the photographs that often become the most meaningful because they're completely genuine. They remind couples not only what their wedding looked like, but what it actually felt like to be there.
Before long, it was time for the cake cutting, followed by Anna and Mark's first dance. It's always one of my favourite parts of the evening because it's the moment everyone naturally gathers together again before the dance floor fills up. It wasn't long before family and friends joined them, and the celebrations carried on well into the night.
Looking back at the day, what stands out most isn't just how lovely Dunedin Country House looked or how much fun everyone had during the surprise entertainment.
It's how relaxed everything felt.
Anna and Mark spent their wedding exactly how they wanted to—surrounded by the people they love, enjoying every moment and never worrying about the camera. They trusted me to quietly tell the story of their day, and that's exactly how I believe wedding photography should be.
Anna and Mark, thank you so much for inviting me to be part of your wedding. It was such a pleasure spending the day with you both, and I hope every time you look back through your photographs, they take you straight back to how your wedding day felt.
Wishing you both a lifetime of happiness together.
